Private Party Information
Both the Boathouse Bar & Grill and 507 Main at Shark River are owned by Tim and Matt Harmon. The Boathouse has been in operation since 1998, while 507 Main opened in March of 2004. While very different in menu and ambiance, both restaurant/bars serve American cuisine you are sure to enjoy…and our service is first rate!

Let the Boathouse Bar & Grill or 507 Main at Shark River relieve your stress of planning such an event by customizing it to your needs and wants any way we can. With endless options for food, drink and service, we are sure to fulfill your every need. Each establishment has its own set of inviting characteristics, it’s up to you to decide which fits your idea for the perfect private party.
The following information should explain things a little more clearly about what you will need to think about before we plan your event. Take a minute to look everything over and then give us a call to reserve your date.
Locations:
507 Main offers several options for private parties. The large back room can
be sectioned off according to the number of people in your party. A bar
separates the room from a dining room on one side, to high tops and a raw bar on
the other. An outside covered patio is attached to the dining room. We will
suggest the best option specifically for your party, depending on the number of
guests you estimate attending. 507Main can accommodate small groups as well as
large parties up to 300 people.
The Boathouse is a great spot for a smaller, more intimate gathering. While the room we generally use for private parties can seat 35-40 people, if combined with the use of the lower bar area, a party double in size would be more than comfortable. The outside, partially covered patio is another option for your private party.
Make our place yours…
Both the Boathouse and 507 Main have comfortable, casual environments great for any party. We allow you to dress up the room if you choose. Make the room your own for your party…bring decoration, centerpieces, balloons and/or tablecloths if you wish. However, you do not have to decorate at all. We do not provide any decorations. We use paper and plastic products for the buffet unless otherwise requested. Feel free to bring special napkins or plates if you want. While we offer a fruit platter that can be ordered for dessert, we urge you to bring your own desserts. (cakes, cookies, pastries) if you so desire. If you need suggestions, please feel free to ask…we can name a few great places to get delicious desserts! We offer satellite music at both venues but have names of deejays and bands you can contact if you are looking for more than satellite music… just ask!! Let us help you relax and enjoy your party!!
General Information
- Generally we do our private parties buffet style. However, for smaller gatherings, we would be happy to allow you to choose items off the menu if you would prefer.
- You will notice that there are several options for both food and liquor. Please look it all over and decide EXACTLY what food items you would like for your party. Mix and match from different categories of options. Anything in the upgraded sections will be a little more expensive than anything from the basic options. We will need to know your menu before we can give you a price per person. Soda, coffee and juice are all included in the price per person.
- 7% sales tax will be added to the food as well as an 20% gratuity AT THE END. Your price per person DOES NOT include either of these additional charges.
- We will need a general headcount in order to prepare enough food. A final headcount or approximation is requested at least one week in advance. You will only be charged for the number of people that attend your party, but we need a close estimate before the party.
- A $150 deposit will be necessary to hold the date for your party (cash, check or charge). This deposit will be subtracted the day of your party. However, the money will NOT be refunded if you cancel your function.

Beer and Wine Open Bar
- Any of our bottled and draft beers along with any of our house wines
(Chablis, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Cabernet and Merlot).
- Soda, coffee and juice are all included.
- 1st Hour - $10.00 per person
- 2nd Hour - $7.00 per person
- 3rd and each additional hour - $6.00 per person
- Ex. 3 hours = $23.00
Basic Open Bar
- All of the above and any of our well liquor drinks plus liquors
Absolute, Captain Morgan, Tangueray, Bacardi, Jack Daniels, Parrot Bay and
most cordials….red bull and shots not included.
- 1st Hour - $12.00 per person
- 2nd Hour - $10.00 per person
- 3rd and each additional hour - $8.00 per person
- Ex. 3 hours = $30 per person
Premium Open Bar
- All of the above and liquors such as Ketel One, Grey Goose and all
cordials…red bull and shots not included.
- 1st Hour - $17 per person
- 2nd Hour - $15.00 per person
- 3rd and each additional hour = $13 per person
- Ex. 3 hours = $45 per person
Basic Appetizer Options:
Basic Appetizer Options: Buffalo wings, popcorn chicken or shrimp, potato skins, mussels with white wine and garlic or marinara sauce, eggplant parmesan and eggplant rollatini, spicy chicken fryz, mozzarella or pretzarella sticks, jalapeño poppers, mini pizza bagels, mini vegetable spring rolls
Upgraded Appetizer Options:
Coconut chicken or shrimp, blackened steak bites, lemon pepper salmon bites, chicken egg rolls, seafood stuffed mushrooms, raw bar (peel and eat shrimp and clams on the half shell), salmon and tilapia
Basic Buffet Options:
Chicken francaise, parmesan, marsala, scampi, balsamic or piccata, penne vodka (with chicken, shrimp or plain), baked ziti, stuffed shells, sliced turkey breast with gravy, fried chicken, tri-colored tortellini, pasta primavera, chicken stir fry
Upgraded Buffet Options:
Sliced prime rib with Au Jus, BBQ Baby Back ribs, seafood stuffed flounder, Bourbon BBQ steak bites with rice, lobster ravioli, shrimp scampi or francaise
Salads and Other Add-Ons:
House salad, Caesar salad, pasta salad, veggie and cheese platter, fresh fruit platter, homemade garlic mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, rice, fresh grilled vegetables
